A beautiful mind Kairos Dance Theater's Dancing Heart program, which provides inspiration for those in nursing homes in the Twin Cities area, is featured in "Arts & the Mind" (8 p.m. Friday, TPT2), a new documentary that explores the role arts play in human development. Twin Cities Public Television is a co-producer, and Lisa Kudrow, who knows a few things about a quick mind, is the host.

Entering the octagon Are you ready to rumble? "The Ultimate Fighter Fridays" (8 p.m. Friday, FX) returns with 32 welterweights pounding the stuffing out of each other for a six-figure contract. Leo Kuntz, who hails from Bismarck, N.D., and attended Minnesota State University, Moorhead, will lean on wrestling.

The rookies "Saturday Night Live" (10:30 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11) is looking to Chicago to help fill the void left by the departure of Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Abby Elliott. The season premiere, hosted by Seth MacFarlane, will feature appearances by Aidy Bryant, Tim Robinson and Cecily Strong, all of whom sharpened their improv skills in the Second City.

The 'Empire' strikes back "Breaking Bad" deserves mad props for its unpredictable nature, but let's not overlook fellow Emmy nominee "Boardwalk Empire" (8 p.m. Sunday, HBO), which returns for a third season after killing off one of its main characters in a brutal fashion that would make Walter White proud.
