St. Paul-raised Joe Mande gets a chance to do stand-up for a national audience when he's featured on "The Half Hour" (10 p.m. Friday, Comedy), a weekly platform for up-and-coming comedians. Mande will also be a staff writer next season for "Parks & Recreation."
Trading places
Minnesota's Chuck Runyon and Dave Mortensen went from creating the health-club franchise Anytime Fitness to living in a poverty-stricken neighborhood in Oklahoma City. Don't worry; they haven't lost their fortune. They're just the latest participants on "Secret Millionaire" (7 p.m. Sunday, KSTP, Ch. 5), a series in which rich folks go undercover to see which charity groups deserve a financial boost.
Curtain call
Neil Patrick Harris defends his title as Host With the Most when he returns to preside over "The 66th Annual Tony Awards" (7 p.m. Sunday, WCCO, Ch. 4), the most underappreciated of the stops on the awards circuit. "Newsies," "Once" and "Jesus Christ Superstar" are among the musicals giving performances.
In the wild
The photography for "Untamed Americas" (9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Nat. Geo.) is drop-dead gorgeous -- with an emphasis on "dead." Once again, a potentially stunning nature documentary is too preoccupied with showing animals tearing each other's skin off. Tough guy Josh Brolin is the appropriate narrator.
