In foreign territory

What's the best strategy for getting a comedian to stop making jokes about you? Guest on his show. That's exactly what former Vice President Dick Cheney will do on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" (10:35 p.m. Friday, KARE, Ch. 11). The appearance may also be connected to a certain autobiography on the bookshelves.

An early night

Followers of the "MDA Labor Day Telethon" (5 p.m. Sunday, WGN America; 6 p.m. KSTC, Ch. 45) will get some sleep this year as the muscular-dystrophy fundraiser cuts back to just six hours. Word is that longtime host Jerry Lewis did not get an invite, but don't be surprised if the unpredictable comic digs up his old Catskills waiter uniform and crashes the party.
A yabba-dabba-do time

Before the "Terra Nova" invasion comes "Dinosaur Revolution" (8 p.m. Sunday, Discovery), a two-part documentary that employs top-notch animators to re-create the creatures. Despite the use of cartoons, Dino of "The Flintstones" will not be making a cameo.

I think I love my wife

Those of us still wrapping our heads around what happened to Julianna Margulies' character last season will get some relief from "The Good Wife: A New Beginning" (8:30 p.m. Sunday, WCCO, Ch. 4), a recap special airing on the hit series' new night.
