Eternal flame Bill Pullman, Lauren Ambrose and Mekhi Phifer are among those joining one of sci-fi's more respected franchises with the premiere of "Torchwood: Miracle Day" (9 p.m. Friday, BBC). In this new series, the world reacts to the fact that nobody appears to be dying. Scientists must have discovered the Abe Vigoda Diet.

Peter Pan complex "The Fairly Odd Parents" series celebrates its 10th anniversary with the TV movie "A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!" (7 p.m. Saturday, Nick) in which our 23-year-old lead insists on staying a kid. Where's Tinker Bell's pixie dust when you need it?

Pretty, pretty, pretty good Larry David still hasn't learned about Xanax -- and we're the better for it. In the eighth season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO), our antihero takes on Michael J. Fox, the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, the Girl Scouts, battered women and all of New York City. In each case, it's an even fight.

They put a spell on you If Harry Potter has to do his homework, then so do you. The upcoming release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" requires reacquainting yourself with at least the early movies. ABC Family is offering two marathon choices: The first four installments (8 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday) and the first five installments (6 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday).
