Sunday Former Stribber Jim Lenfestey's pilgrimage to China is documented in "Cold Mountain" (10 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2), directed by St. Paul's Mike Hazard and Deb Wallwork. Lenfestey is determined to trace the footsteps of his idol, poet Han Shan, which is a lot more honorable than my never-ending quest to find the first pub to bear witness to the "Man From Nantucket" limerick.

Monday Airline pilot Jake Pavelka may not have successfully landed in the Hudson River, but he has enough pull to make 25 contestants try to win his hand in "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" (7 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5). In the premiere, Pavelka uses several drills, including a touch football game, to decide which 10 ladies he should bench.

Minnesotan O'Neal Hampton Jr., a U.S. Postal Service station manager, and his waitress daughter SunShine Hampton compete in a new season of "The Biggest Loser: Couples" (7 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11). In their first challenge, our local favorites must outpedal 10 other teams, including identical twins who collectively weigh nearly half a ton. Expect a lot of tears, cheers and an impulse to pass on late-night dessert.

Wednesday ABC leans on the some big-name guest stars to lure new viewers to its stellar sitcom lineup, starting with Brooke Shields as a confrontational neighbor on "The Middle" (7:30 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5). That's followed by Benjamin Bratt's turn as a slimy father on "Modern Family" (8 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5) and the much anticipated reunion of Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow on "Cougar Town" (8:30 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5).

Thursday Jennifer Jones, who died last month at 90, eventually may have been forgotten by the masses, which was probably just fine with her, but before going into virtual seclusion, she made some of Hollywood's most memorable films. Two are on display in a nightlong tribute, starting with 1946's "Duel in the Sun" (7 p.m., TCM), the rare western that's also sexy, followed by an oft-misunderstood comedy, 1954's "Beat the Devil" (9:30 p.m., TCM), opposite Humphrey Bogart.
