Yes, the NBA playoffs begin this weekend, and the Stanley Cup playoffs are in full swing. So you can pull up a couch and settle in for a weekend of nothing but hockey and basketball. But if you're willing to give your remote a workout (or a rest -- you could head out of the house, you know), here are a few other options:

SATURDAY NIGHT

Twins vs. Angels, 6:10 p.m., Dome

Sure, you could watch these teams go at it on TV (in high-definition, in fact), but this is one of the last times you'll get the opportunity to see former Twins star Torii Hunter patrol his old stomping grounds in center field at the Metrodome. The Angels are in town this weekend and return in late July. But by then, you'll be spending weekends at the lake.

HORSE RACING

Lexington Stakes, 4 p.m. today

OK, it's not the Kentucky Derby, but it is a "Derby Prep." Keeneland's 28th running of the $300,000 Lexington Stakes (4 p.m., ESPN2) will be contested by 12 probable Kentucky Derby entries. And if you think this Grade 2 stakes race doesn't matter: Remember 1999, when Charismatic won the Lexington before claiming both the Run for the Roses (as a 31-to-1 longshot) and the Preakness Stakes.

GOLF

The Heritage, 2 p.m., Sunday, Ch. 4 It's the week after the Masters, it's supposed to be raining, you're probably itching to get out to the golf course. But golf looks pretty good in high-def (the Masters certainly did), so set down the remote and imagine yourself hitting those approach shots and knocking down those putts. Soon enough, you'll be making your own golf highlights.
