Tuesday: Pittsburgh's tattoo-covered 22-year-old rapper Wiz Khalifa -- an ex-military brat born in Minot, N.D. -- has been blowing up on such tastemaking hip-hop sites as okayplayer.com and was recently named one of Rolling Stone's New Artists to Watch. His independently released sophomore album, "Deal or No Deal," went to No. 1 on iTunes' hip-hop chart when it came out in November and showcases his rapid-fire flow and more techno-flavored beats, sort of an unlikely cross between Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Lupe Fiasco. He's touring with Wu-Tang Clan second-stringer U-God and Jasmine Solano. (9 p.m. Tue. 18 and older. $12-$14. Varsity Theater, 1308 SE. 4th St., Mpls. 612-604-0222.) CHRIS RIEMENSCHNEIDER
