Twins pitchers entered their off day Monday with these statistics: Starters had a 2.35 ERA, second-best in MLB. Relievers had a 1.61 ERA, third-best in MLB. And the overall team ERA of 2.04 was the best in the majors by nearly a full run (Houston, at 2.83, was the closest). Nobody would have predicted any of those numbers. That, as they say, is why they play the games.
