Twins pitchers entered their off day Monday with these statistics: Starters had a 2.35 ERA, second-best in MLB. Relievers had a 1.61 ERA, third-best in MLB. And the overall team ERA of 2.04 was the best in the majors by nearly a full run (Houston, at 2.83, was the closest). Nobody would have predicted any of those numbers. That, as they say, is why they play the games.

Twins at Tigers (noon, FSN) is the only early-afternoon MLB game Tuesday. There's one more at 3 p.m. and the rest are at night. So the 5-1 Twins should get plenty of attention throughout the day.

"Nice individual stats by Wiggins and Towns, but again it comes down to defending the three — which is something the Wolves have failed/refused to do all year. How many times this year would one, just one defensive play have mattered?

"Congrats to Coach Red Berenson on an incredible career. A great ambassador for the University of Michigan and a hockey legend."
