You learn a lot from pretty much anyone in the face of adversity, and an NBA team losing its head coach and chief decisionmaker to complications from Hodgkin's lymphoma three days before the start of the season is a pretty heavy dose of that.

All seven Timberwolves players who spoke with the media on Monday offered insights and thoughtful words, but the last of the group to talk — veteran Tayshaun Prince, who played for Saunders in Detroit before being convinced to rejoin forces here this year — was particularly impressive and should be a very good mentor on a young team.
