Wild-Card Weekend in the NFL created a first-time occurrence in the league when all four road teams won. That hadn't happened in this round under the current format.

Because we have short-term memories, some of us might be thinking that having a home playoff game is not really an advantage.

And, well, the long-term numbers tell us just the opposite.

In the 10 seasons leading up to this year, home teams had a combined 61-39 record in NFL playoff games — including 8-2 last season, when three of the four home teams won on Wild Card weekend.

So yes, it is still an edge.
