Stepan, Nash boost Rangers
NEW YORK – Derek Stepan scored two goals and Rick Nash had three assists to lead the New York Rangers to a 6-2 win over the NHL-best Dallas Stars in New York Tuesday night.
Jayson Megna had a goal and an assist, Kevin Klein had two assists and Keith Yandle, Derick Brassard and Viktor Stalberg added goals for the Rangers.
John Klingberg and Antoine Roussel scored for Dallas.
The Stars were swept in their three-game trip to the New York area. Dallas was outscored by a combined 15-9 in losses to the Devils, Islanders and Rangers.
•HAWKS EDGE PENS IN OT: Artemi Panarin beat Marc-Andre Fleury 3:47 into overtime to lift the Blackhawks to a 3-2 victory over the Penguins in Pittsburgh. Panarin finished with two goals, including the winner off a feed from Patrick Kane as Chicago fended off Pittsburgh, which rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the third period behind goals from Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang. Jonathan Toews got his 14th goal of the season for Chicago.
•ANOTHER SHOT OF JAGR: Jaromir Jagr scored his team-leading 14th goal, and the Panthers extended their franchise-record winning streak to 10 games with a 5-1 victory over the Sabres in Buffalo, N.Y. The 43-year-old has three goals in his past two games.
•CAPITALS REBOUND: Evgeny Kuznetsov had a goal and an assist and the Capitals ended their only losing streak of the season at two games with a 3-2 win over the Bruins in Boston.
•JOHNSON OUT: Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson will miss five to 12 games because of a lower-body injury, coach Patrick Roy said.
