Adrian Beltre had an extra reason to celebrate moving up the all-time home run list.

Beltre hit his 450th career homer, a solo drive in the ninth inning off Cody Allen that sent the Texas Rangers over the host Cleveland Indians 2-1.

"Obviously it's a good milestone, but I don't want to get caught up on thinking about that right now," he said. "Hopefully I can accumulate some more."

Beltre drove the first pitch from Allen into the left field bleachers, and moved into sole possession of 39th place on the career chart. Beltre has been limited to 24 games because of a right calf injury, but he has 13 RBI in his past nine games, including a three-run homer Monday.

"He got me," Allen said. "He was ready for it. Didn't miss it."

Both teams managed to get only three hits, one night after the Indians rallied from a 9-2 deficit to win 15-9 Monday.

Allen also gave up a go-ahead homer to the Twins' Brian Dozier in the eighth inning Saturday in another non-save situation.

"I'm out there to get three outs, help the team try to win a ballgame," Allen said. "I just flat-out got beat."

Chicago 4, New York 3: Jose Abreu hit a two-run walkoff single off Dellin Betances, and the White Sox stopped a four-game losing streak. Betances walked two and hit a batter to load the bases with one out. Melky Cabrera fouled out, but Abreu followed with his grounder into left field. The Yankees have dropped 11 of 14 games.

Detroit 5, Kansas City 3: J.D. Martinez and Miguel Cabrera homered and Justin Verlander pitched seven strong innings as the host Tigers beat the Royals. Verlander was down 3-0 before getting an out, but he didn't give up another run.

Oakland 6, Houston 4: Ryon Healy's first career grand slam broke a sixth-inning tie and the Athletics held on to beat the host Astros. Houston scored three runs with no outs in the ninth but Santiago Casilla left two runners on for the save.

Baltimore 3, Toronto 1: Kevin Gausman won for the first time in four starts, Mark Trumbo hit an RBI double and the visiting Orioles won their third in a row.

National League

Washington 6, Chicago 1: Max Scherzer gave up one run and two hits and the Nationals knocked Cubs starter Jake Arrieta out in the fifth inning in a showdown of the past two NL Cy Young Award winners. Scherzer (9-5) was dominant in his six innings of work.

Cincinnati 8, Milwaukee 6: Joey Votto hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the fifth inning, helping the host Reds win. Brewers slugger Ryan Braun returned after missing 31 games because of a strained left calf, going 1-for-5 with a double.

Arizona 6, St. Louis 5 (10): Chris Herrmann hit a walkoff RBI single in the 10th inning for the Diamondbacks, an inning after David Peralta's tying solo homer.

Miami 6, New York 3: Ichiro Suzuki had a go-ahead, pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh and Christian Yelich had three hits for the host Marlins.

Interleague

L.A. Dodgers 4, L.A. Angels 0: Cody Bellinger hit an RBI single before Joc Pederson's three-run homer in a four-run sixth inning, Kenta Maeda gave up four hits in seven innings and the host Dodgers won for the 17th time in 19 games.

Tampa Bay 4, Pittsburgh 2 (10): David Freese misplayed a groundball at third base in the 10th inning, enabling Steven Souza Jr. to score for the Rays.

Philadelphia 8, Seattle 2: Maikel Franco hit a tiebreaking homer in the seventh inning and the Phillies broke it open with a four-run ninth.
