The Cleveland Indians show no sign of letting up their dominance of the Detroit Tigers.
Cleveland remained perfect in 11 games against Detroit this season with a 12-1 home victory Tuesday night.
The Indians have outscored the Tigers 77-24 in the season series. Cleveland leads Detroit by 7½ games in the AL Central.
Indians manager Terry Francona said he hasn't spent much time analyzing his team's eye-popping numbers vs. the Tigers. "Once we process yesterday we move on, let alone a month ago or week ago," he said. "You play the next game and try to win. If you do it good enough people start asking those kind of questions."
Lonnie Chisenhall was 4-for-5 with three RBI while Carlos Santana and Tyler Naquin homered. Carlos Carrasco (5-2) gave up one run in six innings for Cleveland, which has won its past 13 home games.
Detroit manager Brad Ausmus believes there's a simple reason for his team's problems against Cleveland. "There's nothing baffling," he said. "It's not like we haven't played good baseball. They've just played better."
Toronto 8, Kansas City 3: Josh Donaldson hit two solo home runs, Troy Tulowitzki had a three-run blast and the host Blue Jays connected four times to beat the Royals. Fresh off being named an All-Star, Donaldson went 3-for-4 and scored four runs while the Blue Jays won their fourth game in a row.
All four Toronto homers came off Chris Young, who matched Runelvys Hernandez's team record by giving up at least one home run in 13 consecutive starts.
