The other day, we made a list of the 14 "modern era" ballparks (Camden Yards and later) we have seen, ranking each of them from best to worst. We've received tons of great feedback on the list, so now we have this:
On the heels of a wonderful opener at Target Field (photo from here) -- a ballpark that we ranked No. 2 of 14, and we really mean it -- we ask a slightly different question:
What are the most important characteristics and/or amenities, to you, in a ballpark? Sightlines? Food? Aesthetics? Ease of getting there? Obviously several factors come into play, but when it comes to prioritizing and ranking, what are the must-haves and what are the things you can live without?
And, if you've been to Target Field already, how does it rank and where, if at all, does it fall short? We've only been there a few times, but we really have to reiterate what a great job the planners and builders did. It's a gem, and it will be for many years to come.
