Truck sales plunge
GM, Ford and Chrysler all reported large declines in May sales -- GM, 30 percent; Chrysler, 25 percent and Ford, 16 percent -- largely because of slumping truck and SUV sales.
PLANT CLOSINGS
General Motors will close its SUV assembly plant in Janesville, Wis., and three other truck and SUV plants in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

GM will consider selling its Hummer brand. Hummer sales were down 60 percent in May and 36 percent year-to-date.
