Warm, dry weather will spread over the heart of northern and northeastern China on Thursday. In so doing, a bent towards above-normal warmth will persist as the month of April draw to a close.

In Beijing, it will warm to near 80 degrees, or about 5 degrees above normal, on Thursday. On the populous yet agriculturally rich North China Plain as a whole, highs into the mid and even upper 80s, or at least 10 degrees above normal.

Into the north east, warming will lift temperatures into the 70s and even the lower 80s. In Harbin, the high will be near 75 degrees, or 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

On Friday, a cold front will sweep eastward triggering thunderstorms, mostly over the eastern side of this vast area. But cooling will be limited. Warm, dry weather will return at the weekend.
