Trend alert: socks and heels for spring

Those flouncy skirts, sundresses and denim cutoffs stuffed in the backs of our closets are starting to get jealous of the woolly sweaters and flannel-lined pants that make up our winter wardrobes. But there's good news: It's finally time to transition your look into something lighter and brighter for spring. With all that snow on the ground, however, you might have to break a few fashion rules. Among them is an unexpected trend we're seeing on the runways — wearing socks with heels. It takes a style-minded, confident gal to pull it off, but the result evokes a sense of sexy nerdiness that we love. And hey, if we start channeling warmer weather with our style, maybe it will actually come.
