The St. Thomas women's basketball team tied a school record with 16 three-pointers and routed Wartburg 85-56 on Saturday night in St. Paul, earning a spot in the Final Four of the NCAA Division III tournament.
Lucia Renikoff hit five three-pointers and scored 22 points for the Tommies (30-1), who shot 60 percent from the floor and have won 28 in a row in Schoenecker Arena. They avenged their only loss of the season, as Wartburg (27-4) beat them 60-40 on Dec. 30 in Waverly, Iowa.
St. Thomas plays Bowdoin in on Friday in Salem, Va.
Division II tournament
The Division II NCAA tournament brackets will be announced Sunday on ncaa.com — the women at 9 p.m. and the men at 9:30. The Northern State men and Minnesota Duluth women earned automatic bids as NSIC champions.
