St. Thomas football coach Glenn Caruso became the first three-time recipient in the seven-year history of the national Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year program. He won the Division III award for the third year in a row.

Liberty Mutual will make a $50,000 donation on Caruso's behalf.

St. Thomas went 14-1 this season, advancing to the Division III title game before losing to Mount Union 28-10 last month in Salem, Va. Voting for the award came from a combination of fans, media and College Football Hall of Fame ballots.
