Another day, another constitutional amendment.
Sen. Julianne Ortman, R-Chanhassan, and other Republican legislators planned a press conference Tuesday morning to announce a bill that would place a proposed constitutional amendment on the 2012 ballot that would rein in state spending, capping it below projected state revenues.
This follows a move in the House to limit spending by proposing an amendment that would require supermajorities of the Legislature to increase state taxes.
And those aren't even the highest-profile proposed amendments: A same-sex marriage ban and voter ID top the bill of those.
Conference committeees continue to plow through omnibus budget bills. On the platter today: taxes, higher education, health and human services and state government.
And the so-called cheeseburger bill, which would relieve fast-food outlets from lawsuits filed by plaintiffs blaming the joints for their obesity, was to be heard by a House committee.
Where's Mark? Gov. Dayton once again has no public events scheduled, as has been the case for several days.
