If you haven't received your tax refund within 28 days of filing you can go to the IRS website and track your refund.

After six weeks you can call the Refund Hotline at 1-800-829-1954. It's especially helpful if you've recently moved once or more than once.

Go to the IRS website, www.irs.gov, and search for refund status. You'll need your Social Security number, tax filing status (married, single or joint, for example) and the refund amount you are expecting.

If you file a complete and accurate tax return and are due a refund, it should be issued within six weeks from the date the return is received. If you filed electronically (including use of TeleFile), refund checks will be issued within three weeks after the acknowledgment date.
