Wolves seeking repeat at OKC

Wolves update: The Timberwolves open the Ryan Saunders era without Derrick Rose (right ankle sprain) and Robert Covington (right knee bone bruise). The Wolves have won only one road game against a Western Conference opponent all season and it came 114-112 at Oklahoma City on Dec. 23. … Since missing nine games because of a left ankle injury, Jeff Teague is averaging 19 points and 10.5 assists per game. … Over his past six games Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 29.7 points, 16.5 rebounds, five assists and 3.3 blocks. … Andrew Wiggins has scored at least 20 points in three of his past four games.

Thunder update: Russell Westbrook is averaging a triple-double for the third time in his career (21.1 points, 11 rebounds, 10.1 assists but Paul George's surge in play has been a primary reason for Oklahoma City's success in the early going. George is averaging a career-high 26.8 points per game while contributing his usual solid defense. Using ESPN's Real Plus-Minus statistic, which attempts to measure a player's contributions regardless of who is on the floor with him, George ranks third in the NBA behind only James Harden and Anthony Davis. … C Steven Adams is averaging a double-double (15.2 points, 10.2 rebounds) for the first time in his career.
