Asia Durr scored 14 of her 24 points in the second quarter, Dana Evans added 20 points and No. 3 Louisville held No. 2 Connecticut to 38 percent shooting in a 78-69 victory Thursday night at home before an announced 17,023.

The game drew the largest crowd for a women's basketball game so far this season.

After starting 0-for-4 from the field in the first quarter, Durr made three consecutive threes to open the second and put the Cardinals (20-1) up 32-24.

"I had great looks, even when the ball didn't go in," Durr said.

Evans scored 12 points in the second half, hitting a three-pointer with just under two minutes left for a 70-59 lead, to help Louisville end a 17-game losing streak in the series.

Jazmine Jones and Sam Fuehring followed with two free throws each for a 13-point lead and the Cardinals added four more from the line in the final 1:30 to seal their first series victory against UConn (18-2) since their inaugural meeting in the 1993 NCAA tournament.

Jones had 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Fuehring added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Napheesa Collier had 20 points and Crystal Dangerfield 19 for the Huskies, who had won seven in a row since losing at current No. 1 Baylor.

Big Ten women

No. 17 Rutgers 69, Indiana 64: Ciani Cryor scored a career-high 22 points and the Scarlet Knights (17-4, 9-1 Big Ten) rallied from a double-digit deficit in the second half to beat the visiting Hoosiers (16-6, 5-5).

No. 11 Maryland 75, Wisconsin 57: Kaila Charles scored 22 points and the host Terrapins (19-2, 8-2 Big Ten) beat the Badgers (11-11, 2-8).

Postponements: Michigan pushed back its home game with No. 13 Iowa to Friday because of weather. No. 22 Michigan State will play its home game vs. Penn State on Feb. 27.

Big Ten men

No. 17 Purdue 99, Penn State 90 (OT): Carsen Edwards scored 38 points, including four on one play in overtime, as the Boilermakers (15-6, 7-2 Big Ten) edged the host Nittany Lions (7-14, 0-10), losers of eight in a row.

"[Edwards is] obviously a dynamic player," Purdue coach Matt Painter said. "When he's really feeling it, he's got such range that guys will back up a little bit like he's not going to shoot it."

Ryan Cline added 20 points for the Boilermakers, who won their sixth in a row.

Lamar Stevens scored 24 points and Rasir Bolton 18 for Penn State. Purdue led by as many as 17 in the first half and by eight with 5:45 left in regulation before Penn State took an 85-83 lead. Edwards, who made eight three-pointers, drove for a tying layup with five seconds left.

National men

No. 13 Houston 73, Temple 66: Corey Davis Jr. scored 24 points, and DeJon Jarreau added 14 points and 12 rebounds as the host Cougars (21-1, 8-1 American Athletic Conference) beat the Owls (15-6, 5-3) to avenge their only loss of the season. Houston has won 31 straight home games.
