Spartans rally late vs. Scarlet Knights

• NO. 25 MICHIGAN STATE 70, RUTGERS 67: Aerial Powers had 27 points and 14 rebounds and the Spartans (19-7, 10-5) came back from 14 down in the fourth quarter Thursday to beat the host Scarlet Knights (16-11, 7-8). Powers was 15-for-17 at the line for the Spartans, who trailed 55-41 with 7:33 to play but went on a 21-10 run, tying it on Powers' three-point play with 1:08 remaining and then going ahead on two Powers free throws with 27 seconds to go.

• NO. 5 OHIO STATE 96, NEBRASKA 70: The host Buckeyes (22-4, 14-1) moved a game ahead of idle Maryland in the Big Ten standings by beating the Cornhuskers (17-9, 8-7).

• IOWA 63, PURDUE 55: The host Hawkeyes (16-11, 6-9) scored the final eight points to drop the Boilermakers (16-10, 7-8).

• NO. 14 KENTUCKY 80, TENNESSEE 70: Jamal Murray scored 28 points, Derek Willis made seven three-pointers and the host Wildcats (20-6, 10-3 SEC) beat the Volunteers (12-14, 5-8 SEC).

• CONNECTICUT 68, NO. 21 SMU 62: The host Huskies (19-7, 9-4 American) improved their NCAA tournament résumé by beating the Mustangs (21-4, 9-4).
