Thursday (Red Sox would take all of Mauer's salary) edition: Wha' Happened

As mentioned by Peter Gammons on MLB Network and noted by the good folks at Twinkie Town, the Red Sox would reportedly take all of Joe Mauer's salary if the Twins (and Mauer, who has a no-trade clause) were amenable to a deal.

The Red Sox have repeatedly inquired about Mauer, Gammons previously reported, and have repeatedly been shot down.

Our question is this: If these three things happened: 1) Mauer waived the no-trade; 2) The Red Sox did, indeed, take all his salary and 3) They offered a reasonable package in return ...
