Three Minnesotans to be officials in 2012 IIHF world tournaments

They are among 22 Americans chosen to be either referees or linesmen.

Three Minnesotans are among the 22 American hockey officials who have been chosen to work at International Ice Hockey Federation tournaments in 2012.

Thomas Sterns of Prior Lake will be a referee at the World Junior Championships from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.

Dana Penkivech of Apple Valley will be a linesmen in the Division III World Junior Championships from Jan. 16-22 in Dunedin, New Zealand.

And Kristine Langley of St. Louis Park will be a referee at the Division II, Group A Women's World Championships from March 25-31 in Maribor, Slovenia.
