David Lynch Night

Few filmmakers have fans as cultish as David Lynch's, a fact not lost on the Loring Theater. Saturday's festivities are backboned by a screening of the surrealist director's 1986 mystery opus "Blue Velvet." There'll be a pre-screening happy hour with DJs Grant Cutler and Greg Schaal spinning dark, Lynch-inspired tunes. Have a horrifying nitrous oxide mask lying around? Throw it on and go as Frank Booth; there's an optional Lynchian costume party -- with prizes! Will there be pie and damn fine cups of coffee? Remains to be seen. --Jay Boller

Night of 1000 Madonnas

A reigning gay icon gets the drag treatment at this theme party, with the songs of Madonna performed by the Polly FunkChanel, Sweet Lillybee and the rest of the Minneapolis Burlesque & Cabaret Social Club in outfits inspired by the original Queen of Pop. Whether you prefer the cone-bra Madonna of the "Blonde Ambition" era, the punky '80s club kid or the vinyl-bodysuited minx of "Erotica," come dressed in your favorite Madonna outfit, try your hand at a Vogueing competition, and win a prize for best-dressed. --Jahna Peloquin

Perla is one of 113 UC employees found to have violated the system's sexual misconduct policies in rece
