PGA: Quicken Loans National tournament host Tiger Woods won in 2009 and 2012 at Congressional in Bethesda, Md. He missed the cut in the British Open two weeks ago in his last start. … Defending champion Justin Rose is the top-ranked player in the field at No. 7. No. 8 Rickie Fowler and No. 14 Jimmy Walker also are playing. Woods is No. 266th. … The United States won the Presidents Cup at the course in 1994, 1996, 2000 and 2005.

LPGA: The Women's British Open is the fourth of the tour's five major championships. Brittany Lincicome won the ANA Inspiration in April, Inbee Park took the Women's PGA Championship in June, and In Gee Chun won the U.S. Women's Open this month. … The tournament also was played at Turnberry in 2002. Karrie Webb won that year at 15 under. … The 2016 event will be played at Woburn in England.
