Theater spotlight: 'The Tiger Among Us'

'THE TIGER AMONG US'Opening Saturday: This world premiere by playwright Lauren Yee centers on a Hmong girl who has to navigate her family dramas in rural Minnesota. Gaosong Vang and Maxwell Thao portray the two central characters. This is Yee's second work with Mu Performing Arts. She wrote "Ching Chong Chinaman" in 2009. Ellen Fenster, a frequent force at Pillsbury House and Illusion, will direct Mu's production, which is being staged at Mixed Blood Theatre. (7:30 p.m. Thu.-Sat., 2 p.m. Sun.
