GOLDEN BOYS

Saturday-Sunday: "Golden Boys," which premieres Friday at the Lab Theater in Minneapolis, is written and composed by New Yorker Horace Turnbull. The new musical tells a story of friendship and heartbreak that orbits an integrated musical ensemble hired to entertain the troops during World War II. The show, which is being done in the style of those honking musicals from the 1940s, features a bevy of New York and Twin Cities talent. It is directed by Kim Martinez and choreographed by Jimmy Peters. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 2 p.m. Sun., the Lab Theater, 700 N. 1st St., Mpls., $20-$100, 612-333-7977 or thelabtheater.org.)
