Thursday-next Sunday: Composer and lyricist Chan Poling is a font of musical theater ideas. Last time around, he wrote nearly everything for "Venus," his re-telling of "Alice in Wonderland." Now, he has tapped playwrights Jeffrey Hatcher and Bill Corbett for "A Night in Olympus," his newest musical that gets a staged reading in the Illusion Theater's Fresh Ink series. Actors Jessica Fredrickson and Tyler Michaels star in this musical about a frumpy lover of zombie flicks who magically gets transformed into a beautiful figure on prom night. Michael Robins directs. (8 p.m. Thu.-Sat., 7 p.m. next Sun. $15. Illusion Theater, 528 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. 612-339-4944 or www.illusiontheater.org.)
