Greetings. Youngblood here. I'll be covering practice again tomorrow, with Jerry back for Monday's game
Talked at some length with Anthony Tolliver about the upcoming NBA labor talks. He's the Wolves' player rep, and he is a well-informed fellow both on the upcoming negotiations and on the current collective bargaining agreement. Check out my story on the site later today to see what he had to say. But know this: the players union is telling its members to prepare for a lockout, and Tolliver -- a Creighton grad with a degree in finance -- is trying to help his teammates prepare financially for a potential lockout.
But, on to practice.
Luke Ridnour (hamstring) and Darko Milicic (ankle) were back at practice Saturday, though Ridnour pulled out late in the scrimmage session after his hammy got a little sore. Kevin Love, who sat out Friday's scrimmage session, was back full-tilt Saturday.
Having most of his players available meant for a very long and very productive day, according to coach Kurt Rambis. "Our guys were seeing things with more clarity today," he said.
Some tidbits:
--On the issue of Darko! often getting stripped of the ball from behind by a double-teamer? Rambis said Darko's teammates need to do a better job of warning of the double team, and then Milicic has to do a better job of finding the open man created by that double team.
--Rambis said Jonny Flynn continues to look better, physically, in practice. Rambis said Flynn's last two practices have been his best of the season so far.
