The University of Minnesota made headway in 2014 to recover its research prowess and offset stagnant federal funding and the gradual elimination of stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Excluding stimulus funds from 2010-14, the U of M was up 9 percent over a decade ago, after adjusting for inflation, but down 1.2 percent from five years ago.
The "winners" have all been Turkeys, no matter the honor's name.
