Pillow pavers Here's a new way to accessorize your lawn or garden -- throw pillows, just like the ones you use to spruce up your space inside. Only these are made of outdoor-friendly concrete. The cushion look-alike steppingstones come in eight styles and four garden-fresh colors: Willow, Lilac, Terra Cotta and Buttercup. They're available for $35 each at www.tuffits.com.

Big style, small spaces Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan's new book, "Apartment Therapy's Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces" (Clarkson Potter, $30), showcases the opportunities -- not the constraints -- in small spaces.

Its colorful pages take you from instant entrances to cozy kitchens and dining rooms, to compact living rooms, miniature bedrooms, smart home offices and petite children's rooms.

Inspired by the Small, Cool Contest on apartmenttherapy.com, Gillingham-Ryan gathered creative ideas from 40 smallish homes. The resources section in the back of the book helps you track down everything that's featured. Design solutions include vertical storage, open shelving, a walk-in-closet office and soothing colors.

Who will like this book: space-challenged dwellers.

Who won't: empty nesters with scads of room.

Best piece of advice: "Keep large televisions low so they don't overwhelm the room."
