The returning Great Blue Herons
Perhaps two hundred Great Blue Herons have returned to their rookery on two small islands in the Mississippi River near Marshall Terrace Park in Minneapolis. On Wednesday evening, April 1, 2020 the females were building nest from material gathered mostly by the males while an occasional cacophonous racket erupted from the rookery.
