The Pyramid

Opening Friday: Grégory Levasseur has had a decade as a screenwriter of tension movies, including "The Hills Have Eyes," "Piranha 3-D" and one massive shocker, the French female brute-fest "High Tension." He moves to the director's chair for "The Pyramid" (rated R for some horror violence and bloody images). It follows an American archaeology team digging its way into serious trouble. A newly discovered tomb treats them like so many desecraters through collapsing floors, floods of sand and fast-moving mummies. If you want to view some Egyptian locales before "Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens next weekend — or revived ancients before the next "Night at the Museum" premieres in two weeks — but want to avoid name actors, here's a chance. It wasn't screened for critics, so who knows? We'll include a review online as soon as it's available.
