The MIMO free store

What: A store for moving U of M students to drop off unwanted furniture and other goods and for other students and neighbors to pick it up for free.

When: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday through Sept. 11. The group plans to organize two more free stores in 2011.

Where: University of Minnesota ReUse warehouse, 883 29th Av. SE., Minneapolis.

Why: To keep garbage and furniture from littering neighborhoods, a chronic problem when students move.

Who: Created by a neighborhood association and funded mostly by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
