The kids are all right

"Kid Nation" (7 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4), the show that was supposed to corrupt America's youth, has actually had a pretty quiet run since its much-hyped opener -- and for good reason. This wasn't really groundbreaking TV, but a highly supervised game show that was only mildly offensive -- and only mildly entertaining. The first season, and probably last, ends tonight.

Here they come ... How crippling the writers' strike will be to you depends on how excited you are about "Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants" (8 p.m., WUCW, Ch. 23), in which mothers and daughters have to work together to win the tiaras. There's more of this junk/brilliance on the way.

All grown up Ann Curry has spent so much time with the McCaughey septuplets that the family has probably named its guest room after her. The "Today" co-anchor makes her 11th return to Iowa, a decade after their births, for "Dateline NBC" (9 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11).
