Not phoning it in on 'E.T.'Take that, George Lucas. Steven Spielberg said recently that he regrets making changes to "E.T." and that the 1982 film's upcoming Blu-ray will contain the original, unaltered movie, according to press reports. The director's alterations to the 2002 theatrical re-release of "E.T." included fewer guns -- bowing to concerns from parents' groups -- and modified facial expressions for the titular extraterrestrial. As far as his occasional film partner Lucas, who has made many changes to the "Star Wars" films over the years, including the recent Blu-ray editions, Spielberg said, "He can do whatever he wants with his movies, because those are his movies." Spielberg added that he's against any changes to the Indiana Jones movies, which he made with Lucas.
