The Dish: Got milkshake?

February 7, 2008 at 10:50PM

Got milkshake? There's a catchphrase born every season: "I see dead people," "I wish I knew how to quit you." This year's surprising entry comes from the lightly seen "There Will Be Blood": "I drink your milkshake!" Daniel Plainview's threatening words have spawned a music video and a website (www.idrinkyourmilkshake.com) that's become a forum for discussing all things "Blood." Director Paul Thomas Anderson expresses surprise at the phrase's popularity and reveals it has its genesis in an old and esoteric source: transcripts from 1924 congressional hearings into the Teapot Dome scandal.

The final reel Jesse L. Martin will portray Marvin Gaye in the biopic "Sexual Healing," with James Gandolfini as his longtime manager. ... Charlize Theron won't have to de-glam to play screen siren Hedy Lamarr. ... "Last King of Scotland" director Kevin Macdonald will take on "Bobby Fischer Goes to War," about the chess master's epic 1972 match vs. Boris Spassky. ... Amy Adams is in talks to star opposite Ben Stiller in "Night at the Museum 2." ... Director Joe Johnston ("Honey, I Shrunk the Kids") takes over for the departed Mark Romanek on "The Wolf Man."
