Gut reaction Ryan Gosling finally reveals that he wasn't let go from "The Lovely Bones" because he was too young, as the filmmakers stated, but because he was too fat. He showed up on the set 60 pounds heavier than when he was cast, thinking that was how a middle-aged father would look. Director Peter Jackson disagreed and recast the role with Mark Wahlberg, who, frankly, at 11 years older and at least 60 pounds heavier than Gosling, fit the part much better.

The final reel George Clooney will co-produce and direct an adaptation of "Enron," a hit on the London stage. ... Aardman Animation ("Wallace & Gromit") is producing "Arthur Christmas," with the voices of James McAvoy, Bill Nighy, Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent and Imelda Staunton. ... Cate Blanchett is back in Middle-earth as Galadriel in "The Hobbit." ... Adam Sandler and Kevin James are "Valet Guys." ... Oprah Winfrey will star in the adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Ruined."
