Annette Bening can't seem to catch a break in the Oscar game. Both times she's been up for best actress she lost to Hilary Swank; now Focus Features is planning to promote both Bening and "The Kids Are All Right" co-star Julianne Moore for the top honor, damaging both of their chances in a field that figures to be highly competitive. Both women had plenty of screen time, but c'mon, Bening's character was the heart of the story; Moore's was more an entertaining sideshow. The final reel Kate Beckinsale and Mark Wahlberg star in "Contraband," the American remake of Iceland's Oscar submission "Reykjavik-Rotterdam." ... Kyle Chandler ("Friday Night Lights") and Elle Fanning star in "Super 8," directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg. ... Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds switch bodies in "The Change-Up," also starring Leslie Mann. ... Rachel Weisz reunites with her "Constant Gardener" director, Fernando Meirelles, for the psychosexual drama "360." ... Clint Eastwood, still trying to nail down Leonardo DiCaprio for the title role in his J. Edgar Hoover biopic, reportedly wants Joaquin Phoenix (presumably shorn) to play Hoover's love interest.
