Wreaths Across America

Buy one wreath for your front door and one for the grave of a veteran. Gertens is participating in Wreaths Across America, which accepts $10 donations for fresh wreaths to be placed on the graves of veterans at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Dec. 14. You can make donations through Dec. 13 at Gertens, 5500 Blaine Av., Inver Grove Heights. Call 651-450-1501.

Uncommon containers

Dress up your winter pots and window boxes with design ideas from Uncommon Gardens' spruce-top potting workshops, 1 to 2 p.m. Nov. 23. Cost is $10, plus materials. Buy new or bring your own pots. There's also a Hanging Basket and Kissing Ball workshop from 1 to 2 p.m. Nov. 30. Cost is $5 plus materials.
