If you love the calm green of a Japanese garden and have a little time to spare, this might be an offer for you. Como Park Zoo & Conservatory is looking for volunteers to be interpreters at its Japanese garden.

Interpreters, who receive free training, greet visitors and explain the philosophy behind the garden, its symbolism and history. The garden is open May 1 to Sept. 30. For more information about volunteering, call Como Volunteer Services at 651-487-8252 or apply online at www.como zooconservatory.org.
