Start planning how to improve your spring landscape with a four-part class, "Creating a Home Landscape You Can Love and Enjoy," from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 and 20 and Nov. 3 at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Blooms and brewsBachman's Fall Ideas House is throwing a beer and pizza party from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Northern Brewer, a local homebrew supply store, will give beer-making demonstrations and serve beer samples. The event includes a self-guided tour of the fully decorated home, pumpkin picking and Pizza Lucé slices. Tickets are $15. The Ideas House is at 5936 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls. Peonies take root Get tips on dividing and growing peonies and buy peony roots at the Minnesota Peony Society's fundraising event. The seminar is at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by an auction of a wide variety of peonies in many hues, from hybridized favorites to the latest intersectional hybrids. The free event is at Bachman's Heritage Room, 6010 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls. Call 612-861-7311.
