The Minnesota State Horticultural Society is holding two upcoming classes. A fairy house workshop gives step-by-step instructions for making a whimsical structure to tuck into your garden. The house, complete with chimneys and doors, will be made from cement with stones and moss and other natural elements. The finished project will have a closed roof or an open top to insert a plant. You'll also learn how to make pathways and bridges. Materials are supplied, but you may want to bring old hardware such as a skeleton key, window latches and other trinkets to embellish your house. The two-part workshop is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 and 15 at Garden Treasures, 545 Cross St., Anoka. Cost is $40, $35 for members. Register by Thursday.

Linder's experts will demonstrate "Holiday Decorating Throughout Your Home" using plants, greens and natural products for the front door to the mantel, 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 8, Linder's Garden Center, 270 W. Larpenteur Av., St. Paul. Cost is $15; $10 for members; includes refreshments.

To register for either class, call 651-643-3601 or go to www.northerngardener.org.
