Door to door nursery
In the 1800s, gardeners ordered plants from traveling nurserymen, not from the local garden centers we have today. The brightly colored illustrations of peonies, lilies, strawberries and other plants used to entice home growers are part of the "Beauty in a Briefcase" exhibit displayed in several locations at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum through Oct. 13. You also can eat lunch amid the botanical artwork until May 31 in the Oswald Center Restaurant Gallery. The arboretum is at 3675 Arboretum Dr. in Chaska. Gathering of growers

Rose care
Not sure how to "lift" your tender roses when the weather warms up? Members of the Minnesota Rose Society will demonstrate lifting techniques from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
