The winter lineup for one of the loveliest reading series of the season has been announced. Beginning this week, nine authors -- mystery writers, poets, nonfiction writers, and a bookseller -- will take part in the Fireside Reading Series at the Hamline Midway Public Library in St. Paul. The series is sponsored by the Friends of the St. Paul Public Library and Micawber's Bookstore.
Here's the lineup:
Wednesday: Minneapolis writer Peter Geye will read from his second novel, "The Lighthouse Road," which is set on the North Shore.
Jan. 16: Poets James Cihlar, Joanne Esser and Sun Yung Shin will read from their books, "Metaphysical Bailout," "I Have Always Wanted Lightning" and "Rough, and Savage."
Jan. 23: Chris Niskanen, former St. Paul Pioneer Press outdoors writer, will read from "The Minnesota Book of Skills."
Jan. 30: Mystery writers Ellen Hart and Mary Logue will read from "Rest for the Wicked" and "Killer Librarian."
Feb. 6: Bookseller Hans Weyandt of Micawber's will talk about "Read This! Handpicked Favorites From America's Indie Bookstores."
