The 4 percent solution: That was the Twins' chance of making the postseason entering their final game at Detroit

When Minnesota was three down with four to play, the excellent site coolstandings.com gave them a 4 percent chance of winning the AL Central and making the playoffs.

Just in case your spine isn't still tingling from last night, and just in case the "wow" factor of the Twins' improbable comeback to win the division isn't enough, take a look at that image from coolstandings.com.

According to that site's calcuations, the Twins had a 4 percent chance of winning the division and making the playoffs when they were 3 games out with 4 to play. The numbers, of course, kept improving from there until yesterday, when Minnesota finally overtook Detroit at the last possible moment.

Also let it be known the Twins are also given a 40 percent chance of winning the ALDS according to the site, though the prediction is Yankees in 4).

Spend some time over there. It's a pretty cool site, indeed.
