Thank you Randy Moss for a free lunch Friday (at Tinucci's)

And thank you Gus and John Tinucci for making the best out of a bad situation

Tinucci's Restaurant in Newport (396 21st St., 651-459-3211) will serve everyone the same meal that Mr. Randy Moss deemed inedible for human consumption. The first 50 people to bring in and donate their Moss gear between noon and 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5 will receive the buffett free. (Lines will probably start forming around 11 a.m., said Mark Tinucci.)

If you've already burned your Moss memorabilia or never bothered to buy any, take heart. You can get the same meal for $8.40, a subtle play on Moss' jersey number for the Vikings (84).

The all-you-can-eat buffett includes ribs, chicken, carved beef, a 35-item salad bar and dessert. Pat Reusse and Phil Mackey will be doing their AM 1500 radio show from the restaurant Friday from noon to 2 p.m. The offer is not available at the Woodbury location.

Tinucci's has been in business 52 years, long enough to survive the antics of Mr. Moss.
